It is a well known fact that bras, or any other clothing besides the lower half of a bikini can potentially compromise an assassin's stealth-ness. It is due to this fact, and not the wish to have NYU budgets be transparent, that our femme fatal above has chosen to forgo her brazier. It is only when she paints herself purple with crumpled construction paper, that she can afford to don an equally construction paper purple bra type covering.

Name for this assassin anyone?

Nate "The Great" Robinson with Texture

Nate "The Great" Robinson is my favorite player on the New York Knicks. Last night he scored twenty points in the last ten minutes of the 4th quarter in the Knicks win! I was at the Knick game on monday(if you watch the postgame interview(you have to click on the 1/26 postgame interview when you get this page)with Nate "The Great" Robinson and pause the clip at '38 to '42 seconds and look to the right of the top of Nate's head and you will see ME putting on my grey sweatshirt, wearing all white jersey with the number 34!)and he played well in that game too. I hope he doesn't get traded anytime soon.

In other news, I may get to animate Nate for a freelance animation job. He is apparently a big time gamer, the new Call of Duty, World at War, being his favorite, which would be the inspiration for the drawing above.

In other, other news I am really excited about the coloring in this drawing. While on Harold Teitelman's awesome blog Hairy Man I clicked on a link called WJC, where I found some artwork I was vibing hard. I asked how the artist he had been coloring his sketches and he was nice enough to respond with this post. So this was my attempt at a new concept for me. I crumpled up a bunch of different colored construction paper, and using some different opacities, the clone stamp tool, and a few layers on multiply I got this, with which I am happy and excited about exploring more with. Texture is cool. Also, it may be obvious to some, but i have been learning HTML, hence the hyperlinks. Peace!

I put a few different sketches together from when i was sketching around while watching a Fred Astaire movie, Swing Time, with Ginger Rogers.(you can see clips of this on youtube) He has some serious moves. In the Triplettes of Belleville there is a cool scene of him dancing, and then being eaten by his own shoes. Not all the sketches resemble him, but i think there are some of his characteristics in each one of them.

These are some sketches from the a pier near the south street seaport looking towards Brooklyn. I've been trying to sketch this view on my lunch break, so there should be more versions. The bottom section is actually the top continued to the right, but a little zoomed in and with different color styling.

football watercolor

This is a football player, drawn with watercolor pencils. A couple of blues and some yellow and orange for the skin. This top pic is pre-water. Also some black touches in there too. I like some things about this one, specifically the left hand, but the pose needs alittle adjustment; i think the right arm should be more visible and separate from the body. In coles gymnasium at NYU there are a bunch of really great posters from when NYU had a football team back in the day, and one of them has a similar pose to this, so i kind of drew upon it from memory. In closing, I really dig watercolor pencils.

I'm reading a book about stalingrad, which is just nuts. It makes Iraq look like a skirmish rather than a war. Here is a soldier with a couple different color stylings, done in flash. I kind of like them without the dark brown line.

I drew this picture, then scanned it and used photoshop to try and get an old, faded, vintage type look to it. I'm thinking about using it as a print for t-shirts. The bottom image is a combination the top three images in their respective order, with the top, original image on "hard light" in photoshop. What do you think?

This is a character I'm thinking about developing for an animated short. The character, who is tentatively titled Jimmy Jackson, is the hardest, cruelest, baddest, worst, most villanous, despisable villain... of all time.

Let's just say he makes Scarface, aka Tony Montana, seem more like Hannah Montana.

The bottom image is a painting I did with watercolors on cardboard. I was looking at "Dreamworld" by Hanz Bacher at the time, which is a fantastic book by the way. Then recently I was brought the painting into photoshop and messed around. I mostly used dodge and burn and clone stamp tool to make the painting a little more "vivrant thing", if you know what i mean. I would appreciate feedback from anyone with an opinion.
